THE CENTRIFUGE DRIER

Image
CHAPTER THIRTEEN: THE CENTRIFUGE DRIER From our laboratory chemistry we all know what a centrifuge is and what it does, and how it does it. A centrifuge is a device in which a mixture of denser and lighter materials (normally dispersed in a liquid) is separated by being spun about a central axis AT HIGH SPEED. Yes! I had to capitalize that, for it is in its great rotary speed that the centrifuge achieves its primary task of separation.  In this particular machine, same high speec principle is used to dry, instead of separate. A typical real life application of this is our washing machine. During the drying stage of the laundry, the machine spins at very very great speeds, that throws out moist from the fabric. In the very same way, the machines dries inputs to it.  The machine full set up is not completed yet though.

FIBRE SEPARATOR

Image
CHAPTER TWELVE: THE FIBRE SEPARATOR This machine is yet another player in the family of Oil milling industry and machines. After the digester press is done extracting the pulp from the palm fruit, the by-product of the palm kernel and its fibres are next received by this machine. Like the name goes, the FIBRE SEPARATOR sifts the mixture of palm kernel and its fibres. The fibre chaffs drops down, through a hole under the machine, while the unshelled nuts comes out through the outlet in front of the machine.  See model views and dimensions.

THE FEED MILL EXTRUDER

Image
CHAPTER ELEVEN: THE FEED MILL EXTRUDER The Feed mill Extruder is an agro-industrial machine for processing feed for livestock such as fishes and poultry. It uses multiple combination of electric motors that drives a screw conveyor, to press a feed mixture through a series of tiny perforations at the end of a heated and insulated drum. From the other end of the drum, a delicious, attractive strip of pasta (like your spaghetti), is forced out. After drying the pasta, it becomes hardened and crispy; it is then bagged and ready to be served to your livestock.  Facing/adjacent to the extrusion orifice of the drum is a smaller motor powering a rotary cutter that slices the extruded continuous strip of pasta as they form out of the chamber.  Enjoy the some of the views of this awesome industrial machine that I have drawn.  😀😀.

THE OIL MILL DIGESTER PRESS

Image
CHAPTER TEN: THE DIGESTER PRESS  Since  March 2022 (till now) I have been employed at Basicon Engineering company, the same company I had my Industrial placement/training during my 4th year as an undergraduate in the university.   This time I am tasked as a CAD Technician or Draughtsman. My job description includes reverse engineering of fabricated machines by disassembling them, taking their dimensions and specifications and converting them to 3D&2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) models. I'm also involved in documentation and preparation of the CAD models for easy access and reproduction via 3D printing, CNC machining and injection molding. The very first of my models working in this capacity was the DIGESTER PRESS.  This machine is a popular machine in the Oil Mill industry. It harvests the oil pulp from the fruit. The machine carries a screw shaft that presses and mashes the palm oil fruit pulp out of the nut. Below are some views of the model of machi...

LOGO DESIGN

Image
CHAPTER NINE: LOGO DESIGN      I have even extended by CAD aptitude to Graphics and Design applications by using it to make a logo design for a company I am currently contracted to: Valor Africa.  The design is built completely by joining and subtracting 3D objects. Parts of it were also done by extruding 2D wireframe objects into 3D solids. None of the letters were made with a text-writing or editing tool.  It took 4 hours to build, excluding the conceptualization stage where I came about the actual structuring of the letters and figures. Adjusting the color codes of the objects gave different shades to the logo.

PROGRAMMABLE MUCIN EXTRACTOR

Image
CHAPTER EIGHT: VALORISATION The Programmable Mucin Extractor       This is the latest of my designs. On the 6th of June 2021, I was contracted by an Ireland-based company; Valor Africa , an agricultural sustainability and valorization company, to develop and design a machine that is capable of systematically extracting slime from the African snail,    Achatina fulica .  The machine has since been moved in for fabrication, where I am closely monitoring and supervising the process of its fabrication.  Abstract on The Machine      The Programmable Slime Extractor is the very first of its kind, and hence will be patented to Valor Africa as a company-developed machine.  The machine will incorporate the use of   PLUs to run the processes of the machine. First the snails are prepared and loaded unto the screen/basket, in the machine. Then programmable valve-controlled nozzles are made to open and spray cold (done by a ...

SPITFIRE JET FIGHTER

Image
CHAPTER SEVEN: AEROSPACE The Hail Mary Operator      At this juncture I was just perusing different CAD online platforms searching for a worthy CAD drawing challenge. A drawing that will be complex enough for me to test how proficient I really am with CAD. Then a thought came to me: to model an aircraft. I choose to draw a prototype of 'The Spitfire' - the British jet fighter used during the second world war.        I nicknamed mine 'The Hail Mary -1'  , abridged and inscribed on the body of the aircraft as "HM -1" . This is so name with respect to the popular colloquial:  "a Hail Mary operation/method" signifying  any last-ditch effort after several previous abortive efforts.  General Norman Schwarzkopf described his strategy during the Persian Gulf War to bypass the bulk of Iraqi forces in Kuwait by attacking in a wide left sweep through their rear as a "Hail Mary" plan.      Hence my own version of the ...
